DALLAS, Aug. 31, 2022 –MedSys, a Healthcare IT Services Firm headquartered in Plano, Texas, is pleased to announce that Nancy Ellefson has recently accepted the volunteer role of treasurer with the International Esperanza Project (IEP).
IEP is a Dallas-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire hope in people in developing countries through healthcare, community infrastructure development, and education projects.
Ms. Ellefson brings with her a wide range of qualifications and experience. Currently serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at MedSys, she is responsible for the firm’s strategic direction in finance, human resources, accounting, information technology, and risk/cash management.
Nancy started a lasting friendship with IEP founder, Michelle Hollaender, while working at another charitable organization and, in February of 2017 when Michelle officially founded IEP, Nancy offered to handle the accounting for the non-profit pro bono.
“I am honored to join and support such a worthy charitable organization that’s dedicated to improving the lives of others and changing communities from the ground up,” Ellefson stated. “I look forward to adding value to IEP and helping others through my experience.”
After participating in over a dozen trips to Guatemala through the previous non-profit organization and IEP, Ms. Ellefson identified a corporate opportunity to help. From a corporate perspective, MedSys Group is launching an initiative to donate funds and time on trips. In addition, MedSys Group will amplify the message through their social media platforms in order to build awareness of the dire situation and to widen the network of support.
Nancy continued, “It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to engage with and learn from the wonderful families whose homes we are invited into. Their resilience and the happiness they portray in the face of the hardships they encounter daily is a true lesson for all of us who grew up in a very privileged country that we so take for granted on a regular basis.”
