Steven Heck, Chairman of the Board, assists company President, Co-Founder, & CEO, Alan Kravitz, with strategic and operational initiatives. In his previous role as President, Heck formed and led the MedSys Group Advisory Services division. He also helped transform the practice to a consulting firm that supports clients with executive level advisory services and the continuum of IT talent acquisition services. The company’s distinguished history in recruiting and staffing services accelerated their ability to adjust to rapid changes in market demand.

Due to his reputation for specializing in technology planning, executive advisory services, outsourcing agreements and benchmarking, many of the country’s leading healthcare organizations seek his leadership and advice with investment, planning and deployment strategies. Heck has functioned in a variety of executive leadership roles at professional services firms including CEO, President and Partner. He has also served as an expert witness on numerous IT related litigation cases. During his career, he has worked with dozens of the most sophisticated health systems in the country. Heck started his career as a software engineer, designer and project manager. He joined Price Waterhouse as a Senior Consultant in 1977 and moved into the healthcare practice in 1979. Steven became one of the first industry specialist Partners in 1985 and was responsible for all healthcare consulting services in the Great Lakes Region. Steven joined First Consulting Group (FCG) as a Regional Vice President and stayed with the firm for nearly twenty years as EVP, COO, President and Interim CEO. FCG grew from $6M in annual revenue to $275M during his tenure there. In 1997, CHIME was surveyed and 43% of provider CIO’s identified FCG as the best IT planning firm in the industry. FCG was named the “Best in KLAS” professional services firm in 2005. Since 2007, Steven has stayed very active as an expert witness in major outsourcing litigations; with performance improvement projects; and as a client services partner transitioning application portfolios to meet ARRA requirements. In addition, Heck is active on the Scottsdale Institute and HIMSS Analytics boards. He has a passion for effective IT Governance and a strong belief that technology related investments must yield more obvious and quantifiable benefits in the future. He is also a frequent speaker at Scottsdale Institute, HIMSS, CHIME and the Outsourcing Congress.
